Description

Color: Blue, brown, green, white An acrylic painting of the adobe at Rancho Los Cerritos, ca. 1950-1970. The painting, done on particle board, shows the 1844 Jonathan Temple adobe from the east with a large lawn in the foreground; trees, shrubs, and bushes in front of the home; and the two-story adobe behind, with a brown tiled roof; white porch and balcony posts and rails; doors and windows in dark brown; and the walls in a yellowish brown. At the top is a light blue cloudless sky. On the reverse at the lower right in white is: "RANCHO LOS CERRITOS / 4600 VIRGINIA ROAD / LONG BEACH." Having been housed in a frame, there is little evidence of damage and wear, aside from paint and stains on the reverse that probably date from the painting's creation, so the painting is in good condition.
