A painting in color of Francis W. Temple (1848-1888), ca. 1870s. Francis is shown resting his right arm against a fur covered table and wears a white shirt, red tie, blue coat and gray trousers. He has a golden pin on his chest area, waist chain and a ring. His hair appears to be wavy. Toward the left is a green colored curtain draped over and a background that appears to be a balcony overlooking a well manicured lawn, a fountain with shooting water, and trees in view. Francis was the son of F.P.F and Antonia M.Workman de Temple, as well as the grandson of William and Nicolasa Workman. He was in charge of the wine making and the owner of the Workman Homestead from 1876 until his death of consumption or tuberculosis in 1888. With minor warping, abrasions along the edge, moderate soiling, stains and silverfish damage on the back, it is in good condition overall.
