Abbott and published by Independent Democracy, 1928. On the front of the two page artifact is a black and white photograph of Smith. He wears a dark coat, white shirt, and bow tie. His name is across the bottom of the photograph. The name of the publisher is across the top of the inside left page along with the slogan "By and With the Consent of the Governed." Below this is the publisher's address and telephone number, while the name of the author is at the center. The article, which runs from the bottom of the left page to the back of the pamphlet, begins with Smith's background and his beginnings in politics. Also included are his accomplishments as Sheriff of New York County and as Chief Executive of that state, as well as in different positions. The article also delineates his stance on World War I Veterans' rights, freedom of speech, education, and more. With acid burns; many creases; soiling; a fold down the center; stains; small tears; and overall wear, the artifact is in poor condition.
