2005.478.1.3Description
PHOTOGRAPH, PARKED RACE CAR, PROBABLY ASCOT PARK, LOS ANGELES, 1920s. The car has several men standing at its rear, so that part of the painted-on identification on the tail fin is obscured, but what is visible reads "DePaolo / SERVICE SPECIAL," and a number "3". At the front is a man walking by and touching the grill. A silver exhaust pipe runs the length of the side from the engine compartment towards the rear and the body is painted a light color with dark portions on the hood and tail fin. Other persons are milling about in the background. With edge tears, corner and upper edge pin holes, corner damage, and stains, the condition is fair.Lexicon
