"Pepper Drive, California," a postcard issued by the Western Publishing and Novelty Co., Los Angeles, ca. 1920 (the date of the message.) The colored image is of a residential street, lined with pepper and palm trees and the sections with the small pepper pieces are highlighted by orange inks. An automobile is parked at the side of the road to the left, and some indication of houses, though obscured by the trees, are along the street sides, as are sidewalks. In the background on the street is a car facing toward the viewer. On the reverse are clearly marked areas for the message and address, both of which were done. The printed term "POST CARD" is at the upper right along with the postmark, dated 1 September 1920 from La Verne, California, and a one-cent stamp. The manufacturer's name is at the left edge. This item was included free with items 1.1-1.4 of this accession. In fair condition, the item has abrasions along the edges and corners, creases on the bottom corners, and some tears on the paper.Lexicon
