Description
Performers, musicians, dancers and playwright John S. McGroarty of the Mission Play, 1920s. The image, by Bone of Los Angeles, shows the approximately 70 persons gathered in a landscaped courtyard next to the San Gabriel playhouse. McGroarty stands at the center in a three-piece suit and to his left is the actor playing Junipero Serra. Actors playing Spaniards, native Americans and others, along with musicians and dancers, are also present. With some fading, creases, edge wear, slight warping and minor soiling, the condition is good overall.
