Description
PERRY WORDEN TO THOMAS W. TEMPLE II, 8 DECEMBER 1927
Letter and envelope: A one-page typed letter (a) with one-page handwritten (in pencil) addendum (b) and envelope (c) from Perry Worden to Thomas W. Temple II, 8 December 1927. The letter and addendum concern a book recently published by Jackson Graves called My Seventy Years in California, which included a chapter on the failure of the Temple and Workman bank (Graves had worked as a lawyer on suits against bank debtors) based upon a rumor that Los Angeles Jews had ruined the bank. Worden wrote that Walter Temple did not want Thomas to know of the book, but Worden wrote that Thomas should write to Dawson's Bookshop for a copy. The appendix refers also to the Graves book. From the Thomas Temple Collection, donated by Ruth Ann Michaelis. The letters are in good condition with folds and some discoloration, especially on the appendix. The envelope is in fair condition with discoloration, some stains, and pest holes. None
