Description

PERRY WORDEN TO WALTER P. TEMPLE, 10 DECEMBER 1927 A two-page, typed letter (a-b) with envelope (c) from Perry Worden to Walter P. Temple, 10 December 1927. The letter is on plain white stationery and the envelope has a printed return address area and is pre-stamped for postage. The letter concerns a situation in which Milton Kauffman, Temple's business manager, purportedly told Temple that Maurice Newmark, who worked with Worden on the autobiography of Newmark's father, Harris, recommended that Worden be dropped from the proposed Workman and Temple family history Worden was hired for in 1921. Worden outlined his recent meeting with Newmark, who denied making the comment and recommended a meeting with Worden and Temple to clear the matter up. A postscript also noted that Worden left a copy of Jackson Graves' memoirs at the Temple Estate Company office for Temple. Folded into sixths; with some creases; and some discoloration, the letter is in fair condition. The envelope is in poor condition with the opening tear at the left; a long fold at the bottom left; several large pest holes at the right front and left reverse and much surface soiling and discoloration.
