Description
PERRY WORDEN TO WALTER P. TEMPLE, POSTMARKED 29 MAY 1924
A three-page typed letter (a-c) with envelope (d) from Perry Worden to Walter P. Temple, postmarked 29 May 1924. The letter and envelope are on plain white stationery. The letter concerned a planned visit by Worden to Temple; discussed an article written by Worden for the Temple Times and plans for regular contributions; updated news on the family history Worden was writing, including early southern California material available at Dawson's Book Shop, one of which, an 1873 pamphlet with mention of F. P. F. Temple, was purchased; and a vague reference to a work on Harris Newmark, whose autobiography was edited by Worden. The third page of the letter is a postscript, complimentary of Maud Bassity and suggesting a Sunday get together between the Wordens and Temples. The letter, folded into sixths and with very slight discoloration, is in good condition. In fair condition, the envelope has the opening tear at the top; a number of creases; bent corners; and acid burn from adhesive on the reverse.
