2005.510.1.1Description
LANTERN SLIDE, PERSHING SQUARE AREA, LOS ANGELES, ca. 1910s. Taken from a building on the southern end of the square, the view shows much of the park and its lawns, trees, and walks, and, at the top, the section north across Fifth Street where there are business buildings. On the mount is information that the slide was issued by the Passenger Department of the Southern Pacific Company. A typed slip that appears to be text designed to be read with the slide is item .3 of the accession, but it is text concerning Westlake (now MacArthur) Park. Other than mild wear to the paper mount, the condition is good.Lexicon
