PHOTOCOPY OF A GRANT OT SAN CLEMENTE ISLAND, 12 MAY 1846 Color: Black; White A photocopy of a deed of San Clemente Island from Pio Pico, governor of Alta California, to his brother Andres and to William Workman, 12 May 1846. The original, handwritten in Spanish, with the government seal at the top left of the first page, was translated and a copy is item .21. The item is two pages, lists three conditions on the grant and is signed by Pio Pico, Jose Matias Moreno, who was probably the governor's secretary, and there is a note at the end by Moreno that the deed was recorded in the proper book of deeds. With staple holes and rust from the staple at the upper left, quarter folds, and some creases, the item is in good condition.
