Description
A photograph of a man at the Ice House Canyon Resort entrance, San Gabriel Mountains, 19 August 1928. A man poses near the entrance of the Ice House Canyon Resort, located north of Mt. Baldy. There is a sign stating "ICE HOUSE CANYON RESORT/END OF ROAD/Do Not Drive Further PUBLIC PARK BELOW". Another sign reads "CAFE." The family owned resort boasted numerous vacation cabins and an on-site restaurant. The lodge ran its business from 1919 until 1988 when it was burned down. With minimal wear overall, and a VELOX photographer's stamp on the back, date written in ink the object is in good condition.
