Description

PIANO STOOL (CAME WITH CHICKERING & SONS SQUARE GRAND PIANO) Color: Brown; White A piano stool, said to be original and matching with a Chickering square grand piano, item 2000.132.1.1, ca. 1870. Though there are similarities between the stool and the piano, the former has claw feet, whereas the latter has ball feet, and a sextagonal hourglass post and decorative detailing not found on the piano. Additionally, the upholstery, a cream and gold vine-and-leaf patterned fabric, was added in the 1970s. Though there are abrasions on the corners of the base of the seat, abrasions, scratches, and dents on the legs, and an area on the pedestal above the legs where a screw has gouged into the wood, the stool is in overall fair condition.
