Description

Color: Blue; Orange; Green "Picking Oranges on a Covina Ranch, California", ca. 1915. The image is a color-tinted photograph of an orange grover with heavily-laden fruit trees; workers standing on ladders, crouching on the ground, and sitting on boxes; and a man in a suit standing near a car parked in the narrow row between trees. Many of the workers have sacks at their waists to collect the fruit they pick. In the foreground are several boxes filled with fruit. The title of the postcard is in black letters at the top, superimposed over a blue sky with a sunset-like coloring below the title. On the reverse is the stamp area with postage amounts needed for mailing and directions for where to write a greeting and where to address the card. A model or inventory number is at the bottom. All of the lettering on the reverse is in green ink. Unused, the card only has slight wear on the edges, particularly the upper right corner, and is in good condition.
