Pico House hotel, Los Angeles, unattributed, ca. 1870. The view is taken from in front of the Plaza Church looking to the south. The north and almost all of the west facades of the three-story structure are in view. Also of note are the rooftop signs, open windows in some rooms, and some persons with luggage on the walk outside the west side of the hotel. There is a pencil inscription of "Los Angeles" on the reverse, but no other identifying features nor an indication as to photographer. With some heavy soiling and rubbing to the matte edge, the overall condition is good.
