"Pictorial Review," published by the Pictorial Review Company, July 1928. The 94-page magazine has a white cover with the title at the top of the front in black. Within a square box at the center is a color illustration of a small girl holding a tin of salt in her lap and sucking on a finger that has salt on it. She wears a yellow dress and there is a bird at the upper right. To the upper right of this is the price. At the bottom is the month and year and price, as well as a featured fictional piece and the names of featured authors. There are seven fictional pieces, including an installment of the serialized novel "The Children" by Edith Wharton. There are five special articles concerning the Fourth of July and other topics. Eight articles are in the home-making section, including material on hosting, picnics, recipes for children, summer clothing, and using sour milk. There is also one fictional story for children and a section on fashions for the month. There are many illustrations, mainly black and white drawings, and a large number of advertisements. With spine brittleness, flaking, losses, and loose elements; cover creases, soiling, dented and dogeared corners, the back cover coming loose, moisture damage on the front upper right, stains throughout the cover and some pages, and cover tears, the overall condition is fair.Lexicon
