Color: Black; White
"Picture Taking with the Nos. 1 and 1A Pocket Kodaks," a 61-page instruction manual issued by the Eastman Kodak Company, March 1927. The front cover has a black line outer border with a thinner black line within it. At the lower part of the box created by the border is an image of the camera with the title of the pamphlet above it. On the back cover is an outdoor exposure guide with a list of possible subjects, the recommended stop opening and the suggested shutter speed. An explanatory note is at the bottom. On the title page is a stamp for The Holden Drug Co. of Stockton, California, which distributed this item. Contents include information on ordering film; familiarizing the user with the camera; loading the film; making the exposures, including operating the shutter, instantaneous features, focusing, using the viewfinder, the autograph feature, time exposures, and uses of a flash; removing the film; and finishing the pictures. There are many illustrations, both photographs and drawings, to illustrate use of the camera, as well as tables for focusing and distance. At the back is a price list of accessories and attachments, including cases; filters; developing supplies; albums; mounts; tripods and other items. Information on the service department and tips for using the camera conclude the document. The lower left corner of the back cover is torn, there is a dent on the bottom of the front cover and there are creases and some surface soiling on the covers, so the artifact is in fair condition.Lexicon
