Description

Small white throw pillow with an image of a girl wearing a long full dress and bonet embroidered in the center. The pillow cover is made of plain weave cotton voile with 5 rows of attached cotton lace and embroidery on one side. The embroidered image was made with multi-colored floss using french knot, stem stetch and lazy daisy techniques. There is a repair at the top edge at center back and a 9" opening at the bottom edge where the stuffing was removed. Pillow case was returned from textile conservation on 11/25/95 where it was washed and tested for color fastness. Overall physical condition is good, however, the soiled cotton lace looks gray making the pillow look dingy for display purposes.
