Description

Color: Black; White A black and white photograph of the Pio Pico Gallery construction site looking south, 8 November 1976. The site is a large square dirt area in the center. Around the left, top, and right is a trench where wood frames have been placed for the building's foundation. On the top left and right corners are two reinforced concrete squares with many metal bars. Towards the center, and parallel to one another, are four concrete squares for more reinforcement. To the right and below are several planks of wood lying in a stack and by the planks at the bottom are two work-horses sustaining one beam. In the foreground is an electric cord running from the far left to the center, while the top of a chain-link fence is seen across the bottom. Across the background are piles of dirt, surveying markers, and two dirt paths that became Don Julian Road. On the back bottom right is a stamp in black ink crediting Duane C. Alan as the photographer and providing his business information. With no signs of wear, the image is in good condition. Number-Units: 1
