Color: Black; White
A black and white photograph of the Pio Pico Memorial Walkway brick laying, 3 February 1977. Pictured in the center running east is the walkway with concrete curbing on the left and right. A set of ten rows of bricks is in the center seperated by a concrete edge, and followed by three more rows of bricks. The walkway area in the center foreground remains enclosed by dirt. Concrete bases lining the outer edges mark the areas where trees and ligh-posts will be placed. To the far right and left is a dirt field, and there are some automobiles parked among construction debris. In the background left are trees, while in the center is a group of four men with construction equipment laying the brick in the walkway. Behind them is a palm tree in the heart-shaped planter, and the brick perimeter wall and entrance to El Campo Santo cemetery. The sloping cornice and columns of the neo-Classical mausoleum can be seen in the center with trees on the left and right. To the far right are more trees, and a section of the Hacienda Boulevard bridge going over San Jose Creek. On the back bottom right corner is a label crediting Duane C. Alan with the photography and providing his business information. There are two identical images, with the same number, and in good condition.
