PLAY FROM A FOOTBALL GAME, PROBABLY INVOLVING THE UNIVERSITY OF SANTA CLARA
Color: Black; White
A photograph of a football game, presumably involving the University of Santa Clara, ca. 1925. Taken from the field, the image shows a play in progress with a player carrying the football and the offensive and defensive players in motion. Two officials, wearing white, one of which in the foreground carrying a down sign, are watching the action. Yard lines are marked in the grass, as well. In the background are spectators in two sections of the stadium, while there are two sections and part of another that are completely empty. On the reverse is a pencil inscription reading "48," at the lower right. In good condition overall, the item has stains and soiling on the reverse, bowing of the paper, and dented corners.
