Description
Playwright John Steven McGroarty, his wife Ida Lubrecht and Juanita Vigare Zorraquinos, Mission Playhouse, San Gabriel by Dick Whittington, 15 February 1930. The image shows Ida Lubrecht McGroarty holding the script for the Mission Play, the playwright of the work, and the principal dancer and choreographer, in her costume, as they celebrated the 3,000th performance. Whittington's stamp is on the reverse and the date is confirmed by a photo found on Calisphere (a date in pen at the bottom right reading "1-27-18" is incorrect.) With album paper residue and some soiling, the condition is good.
