"Plumbing Specialties," a catalog issued by Woodward-Wanger Co., ca. 1924. The hardcover artifact has a faux leather cover with an embossed line border on the front cover. Within this at the top is a gold background panel, on which is the company name and headquarters embossed on it. Below, at center, is a square border, within which is a "mushroom parabal," an item sold by the company. At the bottom, within a narrower panel like that of the top is the title of the work. On the spine is a long gold background panel with the company name and the designation "CATALOG / E." The first page shows the company's headquarters, though at the bottom is the address of the western branch in Oakland. Following are pages with introductory information on the company, its shipping policy, new names for articles, and a table of contents on the eight sections of the book, concerning rubber, leather and fiber goods; brass goods, repair parts, and heating items; tubular and cast brass material; showers and tubs with accessories; water closet seats; plumbers tools; cabinets, shelving and shop equipment; and a price list, including prices per quantity and the suggested retail price. Most items have engraved illustrations, product number, sizes, and, frequently, a description. An index and ordering information precede the price list. In fair condition, the last page has a full vertical crease and the cover has some wear, dented corners, fading lettering, and a few stains.Lexicon
