PLUMBING VENT WORK, LA CASA NUEVA BUTLER'S PANTRY
Color: Brown
A color polaroid photograph of the changing of the plumbing vent in the La Casa Nueva Butler's Pantry, 6 February 1979. The wall at the west side of the pantry is being worked on with a large gray metal pipe leading from a mount at the lower portion of the wall and connected to an elbow just below the window sill and another pipe leading off to the left or south side. Two thin pipes, perhaps copper are also exposed. The adobe wall is largely brown in color though there is a dark green like color at the bottom, perhaps where water has discolored the wall, though it may also be that some cement patching was done there. At lower left is part of a wood step stool, while there is a plastic container on the window sill. A portion of the tile and window are at the top right. The work was being done in preparation for the reinstallation of the original sink and replacement faucet. An inscription in green ink at the bottom of the artifact reads "Plumbing Vent To be changed / To Accomadate [sic] New Faucetts [sic] / & Sink. 2/6/79." With little indication of wear or damage, the object is in good condition.
