PLUTO AND MR. GAY AT GAY'S LION FARM, CA. 1920S
Postcard: A black and white postcard of Mr. Gay of Gay's Lion Farm, El Monte, and Pluto, one of the lions. Seen against a solid background, perhaps a partition, Gay is sitting on the back of the lion with his hands clutching the mane. The lion's right foreleg is lifted and rear legs separated as in motion. Gay wears what appears to be a khaki suit and calf-length black boots. Identification in white ink at the top right of the photographic original with the number "10" at lower left. The unused card, purchased from Mark Kittinger, is in good condition with some discoloration, light edge wear, and several stains on the message side. None
