Description

Color: White A Point de Milan Cantu Milanese lace runner, ca. 1920s. The ecru colored piece as a series of connected designs resembling flowers along the edge with three distinct panels within. The one at the center is rectangular shaped and appears to be two floral stem and leaf patterns meeting at the middle with four small birds at the corners and flowers at the left and right. At the ends of the piece are circular panels with a similar stem and leaf floral design as at the center but, on either side are two winged creatures, perhaps a Pegasus-like figure with faces turned toward the stem and a branch extending into their mouths. In between the three panels are connected, intricate vines, flowers, birds and butterflies. As an unused item, the artifact has no signs of wear or damage and is in good condition.
