A photograph of the Port of Los Angeles (San Pedro), ca. 1930s. The view shows railroad lines, shipping terminals and waterways within the port. At the bottom right is "L.A.H.D. / PHOTO," standing for the Los Angeles Harbor District. On the reverse is a typewritten inscription: "Plate No. 75-I / A general view of the waterfront between / Berths 227 to 234 (across the channel) and Berth / 84 (in foreground). Note the modern ferry terminals." The plate number is in pencil, as well. Aside from a large crease at the upper left and a smaller one at lower left, as well as minor wear, the artifact's overall condition is good.Lexicon
