Description

Color: Black A portion of a man's black wool vest, ca. 1920s. The left side of the garment from the top of the shoulder section to the bottom is largely intact, including five buttonholes and two pockets, and the outer panel is in a herringbone pattern with the inner lining of plain white cotton. The entire right side is missing. The plain black cotton back is partially in place and the inner lining is, as with the left side, of plain white cotton. The top section, however, which would have the maker's tag is missing. The artifact was found in the attic of La Casa Nueva during the installation of insulation. There is significant soiling, staining, pest holes, tears, and overall damage to the vest, which is in poor condition.
