Description

PORTRAIT OF BOYLE, MARY JULIA, AND ELIZABETH WORKMAN, ca. 1875 Color: Black; White A reproduction black and white photograph of a portrait of Boyle, Elizabeth, and Mary Julia Workman, ca. 1875. From left to right are Mary Julia, seated on a chair or bench with her right elbow resting on a round table covered with a dark cloth. In her left hand is a book. At center is Elizabeth, seated with both hands folded in her lap. Both girls wear light-colored striped dresses that are matching, though Elizabeth has a ribbon in her hair. Boyle, standing at right, wears a light-colored jacket with dark colored embroidered designs, a light-colored shirt with wide collars and dark-colored pants. Aside from the table, all that can be discerned about the studio is a backdrop with a curtain or drape at the background left. The three were the eldest children of Maria Boyle and William H. Workman. As a newly produced photograph, the artifact is in mint condition. Number-Units: 1
