Description

Color: Black; White A reproduction black and white photograph of a portrait of Mary Julia Workman, ca. 1890s. She is seated in a wood chair with a plain light-colored backdrop and wears a very elaborate long dress with much lace fringe work and a lace collar. Some of the trim appears to be in black velvet and she wears elbow-length black gloves. In her lap is what seems to be a beaded purse. Atop her head is a wide-brimmed hat with flowers and large dark and light-colored feathers. Her hair is pulled up into a bun, she wears spectacles, and her left arm rests on an arm of the chair with her hand resting on her cheek. Mary Julia Workman was the second child of Maria Boyle and William H. Workman. As a newly produced photograph, the artifact is in mint condition. Number-Units: 1
