Description

A portrait in color on canvas of Thomas W. Temple II, ca. 1917. Thomas appears to be in his early adolescent years. He is sitting down, holding an open book as he looks upward. He wears a gray suit jacket, handkerchief, and shorts. The background shows an outdoor scene, a large tree hanging over Thomas, and a pink rose to the left. It is likely that the image was created from a studio photo made into a portrait on canvas. The artist and, or studio name, Hoover Art, is written in red paint at the bottom right. With minor tearing to the canvas, significant moisture stain visible on the reverse, minor abrasions along the edge, it is in good to fair condition.
