Color: Gray; Green; Pink; Purple; White
A postcard with pink and purple flowers, ca. 1914. The gray-bordered front has a vine with sections of green leaves and pink and purple flowers at the top and bottom. In between is the printed message "TO WISH YOU / many real / Prosperous Days, / better than ever you've / had before. / With lots of good luck / and plenty of pluck / To make you happy / and enlarge your / store." On the reverse is the word "POST CARD" at the top center with a dividing vertical line labeled on one side "FOR CORRESPONDENCE" and, on the other, "FOR ADDRESS ONLY." A 1-cent Canadian stamp with an image of King George VI is at the upper right corner, partially covered with the postmark with the date December 24 and, possibly, the year 1914, as well as the town of Scotstown. The card is addressed to "Miss Maude Bartlett / Grande Grive / Yaspe Co. [?] / P Que[bec]." A short message at the left reads "With my / Sincerest Best / Wishes to you / Sincerely yours / P. R. Roy / Scotstown." At the bottom left is the printed inscription "Series 40 B." In good condition, the front has a few small areas of soiling with a little more on the reverse and the edges and corners are slightly worn.
