"Prang's American 2nd Prize Christmas Card," Alex Sandier, 1880. The card shows a female figure in a red fur-lined cape standing in a natural scene with Christmas and New Year's greetings flanking her. On the reverse is the title, note of a $500 prize to the winner, and several ink inscriptions, including the date of Christmas 1880 and three signatures, probably of the contest judges. Louis Prang is considered the "Father of the American Christmas Card." With edge rubbing, mounting residue on the reverse, and light soiling, the overall condition is good.
