Description
A snapshot of President William Howard Taft's visit to the University of Southern California campus, Los Angeles, 1911. The elevated view shows the exterior of the College of Liberal Arts building at USC. A large crowd gathers at the entrance and some people on a second story balcony to the right. The entrance stairs are filled with people wearing the academic cap and gown. Between the stairs and the large crowd is an automobile carrying the President to the entrance, marked with a large banner above, "U.S.C. WELCOMES PRESIDENT TAFT." Several American flags are hung throughout the facade. The photograph was previously pasted into an album. With minor adhesive residue on the reverse, silvering on bottom left and moderate warping, the object is in fair condition.
