Description

PRIEST AND THREE UNKNOWN WOMEN AT MISSION SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO Color: Black; White A black and white photograph of a priest and three unknown women, ca. 1920s. The group stands at the center on a dirt area with a woman at the far left. She wears a hat, eye-glasses, dark-colored dress, and holds a purse under the left arm. The priest is next to her and wears a white collar and dark clothing with a long coat. He holds a hat in the left hand and points towards the camera with the right. The woman next to him wears a hat, jacket, knee-length dress, and hose. She holds a purse with both hands in front of her. The woman at the far right wears a hat, three-piece dress, hose, and holds a purse under the left arm. All look at the camera. Around them are bushes and flowers while to the left of the back is the mission's bell wall which has four arches. One of the bells is visible within the first arch. Part of the wall is covered with vegetation which is at the far right. At the right of the back is a stamp with the words, "ANDERSON / Photo Service / EL MONTE." Below this is the number, "3."
