Description

PROBABLE EVENT FOR LOS ANGELES SESQUICENTENNIAL Color: Black; White A photograph of what was probably an event for the Los Angeles sesquicentennial, September 1931. A group of persons is sitting on benches, seemingly around a stage or platform, which appears to be at the right. Just left of the center, a man is shaking hands with another man who is seated. This latter is probably Walter P. Temple, who was on a honorary committee for the event, which also had Thomas W. Temple as an active committee member. In the background are some palm trees and a large business building, identifiable as part of the civic center, possibly the federal building. On the upper right corner of the reverse is the stamped number "987." With light discoloration, surface soiling, and dented corners, the object is in good overall condition. Number-Units: 1
