Description

PROBABLE EVENT FOR LOS ANGELES SESQUICENTENNIAL Color: Black; White A photograph of what was probably an event for the Los Angeles sesquicentennial, September 1931. A group of persons is sitting on benches, around a stage or platform, which is at the center. One of these seated observers, second from left is probably Walter P. Temple, who was on an honorary committee for the event, which also included Thomas W. Temple II as an active committee member. On the platform are several persons talking, presumably after the festivities were concluded. In the background are some palm trees and a large business building, identifiable as part of the civic center, possibly the federal building. On the lower left corner of the reverse is the stamped number "987." With light discoloration, surface soiling, and dented corners, the object is in good overall condition. Number-Units: 1
