A photograph of what was probably an event for the Los Angeles sesquicentennial, September 1931. A group of persons is standing watching a crane lower an item, possibly a time capsule, towards the ground. At left is a portion of what may be the federal building, while a street, a portion of a hill (likely Bunker Hill) and other buildings are in the background. On the upper right corner of the reverse is the stamped number "987." With light discoloration, surface soiling, and dented corners, the object is in good overall condition.
