Description

Color: Black; White A black and white proofsheet with 26 exposures of photographs of Scripps College and its students, ca. 1920s. Most images seem to be from a scrapbook, with others being framed photographs and two shots from a book. Generally, the exposures show students in formal and informal poses during activities or with campus buildings. The interior of a bedroom; the exterior of a Spanish colonial revival structure; the floor plan of a building; and parts of news clippings and ephemeral objects are included in many of the images. Eleven of these were reshot, printed and accessioned into the museum's photo collection and are items .1023-.1033. Ada Watkins Hatch, a student in the first class at the college, provided the source material for these images as part of a living history project for the Homestead Museum. There is some slight wear on the reverse, but otherwise the artifact is in good condition. Number-Units: 1
