Description
PROTECTION OF COLLAPSED ADOBE BRICKS FROM RAIN, EAST WALL, WORKMAN HOUSE
Color: Brown
A color polaroid photograph of the east side of the Workman House after the collapse of the original adobe wall, ca. spring 1977. The enormous hole left by the collapse of the wall is partly covered by clear plastic, while other portions are exposed. Temporary wood supports are seen between the lower level floor and ceiling. Clear plastic stretched over wood supports covers the adobboe bricks that were left on the ground, in and around a trench at the base of the home, after the collapse. To the left is the end of the southeast wing. To the upper left, the very dark sky testifies to the rainy weather at the time of the exposed adobe's collapse. An ink inscription at the bottom of the artifact reads "East Wall Workman House / Protected From Rain." With little indication of wear or damage, the object is in good condition.
