Description

Color: Black; White A negative of a black and white photograph of the Puente packing house, ca. 1920s. The large brick building is at the top center as viewed from the southwest. Three ventilation shafts are on the west, center, and east parts of the roof which is pitched. Facing to the left is the south wall which has a semicircular vent at the top of the building with a four-paned sash window on either side. On the center of the first floor is an arched wood door with criss-crossing muntins in the center. On the far left and right of the long south wall are single-arched wood doors. In front of the building is a utility post with a short wood-post fence in disrepair to the left. On the far left is a portion of another structure. To the left background is a hill and a pitched roof building, and to the right utility posts, homes, and trees. Going from west to east across the foreground are two railroad tracks and there are weeds, rocks, and debris between and along both tracks. With no signs of wear, the image, which has a corresponding print in 99.6.11.243, is in good condition. Number-Units: 1
