Color: Black; White
A black and white photograph of cars at a automobile race at Ascot Speedway in Los Angeles, 1927. The view is from a grandstand and shows cars lined up before a starting line. There are three cars at the line and what appear to be two more rows of three cars behind. Each car has several people, presumably drivers and pit crews gathered around it. In the background is an area at the center of the track with race cars and automobiles parked and a number of people milling about. There is a stand near the track with persons seated in it, presumably race officials. Behind this is a platform with a group of people standing on it observing the proceedings. In the foreground are the heads of some of the spectators near the photographer in the stands. In pencil on the back is the inscription "Ascot Speedway / Los Angeles, / Cal. / 1927" and the identification number "p16" at the lower right. Aside from light discoloration of the paper on the back, very small edge stains and wear, and slightly dented corners, the item is in good condition.
