Description

Color: Blue; Red; White The game board for a game called "Radio Questionaire," issued by the Durable Toy & Novelty Corporation, 1928. The board has a brown or red paper frame consisting of three sides, but without a bottom. On the face are thirty grommets with two markers, one painted red and the other blue affixed to the board at the center of the circle created by the grommets. At the top, above this, is a bulb mounted on the board and having a base with a red and green painted surface, though it is not easy to tell whether there is a design on the base. At the left side are two prongs where a battery was to be attached. On the reverse are matal conducting rods with the grommets so that the spinning of the painted markers would generate an electrical response. Between the affixed point of the markers, the prongs for the battery mount, and the light bulb housing are wires, two of them with partial or full cloth insulation. These would conduct the electric impulses from the markers to the battery to the light to indicate a correct answer. Over the face questionaire cards were placed, as described in items .3-.8. With light soiling on the cardstock, some tarnshing on the metal, and scratches on the markers, the artifact is in good condition.
