Description

RAISING OF ARBOR FOR RESTORATION, MISSION WALKWAY EAST SIDE Color: Brown A color polaroid photograph of the raising of the east side of the Mission Walkway arbor, 30 March 1977. The photographer stood at the north end of the walkway looking down the corridor toward the southeast arched entrance. The main wall is at left and some of the columns at right. The wooden supports between the wall and columns and, heading the opposite direction parallel to the walk are at the top, covered with the bare grape vines. At the right, about a foot in from the columns and nailed to every beam going from the wall to the columns is a piece of wood, used to prop the arbor up for repair. On the floor of the walk is a hose, at the eastern gate, and on one of the arches at far left is a thermos and what appears to be a shoe. Toward the bottom of the artifact is the pencil inscription "East Arbor Raised For New / Work 3/30/77." In good condition, the object shows little indication of wear or damage. Number-Units: 1
