Color: Black; White
A black and white photograph of Ralph Tally and three unknown people on a porch, July 19, 1930. Ralph Tally stands at the center and holds a cigar between his lips with his hands on his hips. He wears a long-sleeve shirt with rolled-up sleeves, riding trouers, and knee-high boots. He faces a girl who is standing on the right but who is mostly hidden by a post. Behind her sits a woman on a bench who wears a sweater and pants. Another woman sits on the porch steps to the far right and wears a hat and a short-sleeve dress. The wood building behind them has a sash window and two doors at the left, with one of the doors open revealing a towel hanging on the wall inside. There is another sash window and a screen door on the right. On the back is a portion of a bear-shaped stamp with the words, "GENUINE KRYSTAL GLOSS / GUARANTEED FOREVER / JUL 19 1930." The photograph was housed in Agnes Temple's album, which is item 96.7.94.1, along with many other photographs, which span 96.7.1.1-.93.1. Contact sheets 2000.159.1.1-.8 show the original positioning of the images within the album. With some water damage and stains, the artifact is in fair condition.
