Description

Cardstock sheet with a cabinet photo of the Raymond hotel of South Pasadena on one side and the Hotel Del Coronado near San Diego, ca. 1887. The view of the Raymond shows the structure from the southeast with walkways, stairs, terraced landscaping and a structure that might be a railroad depot at the lower right. The appearance, esepcially with the landscape suggests the hotel was relatively new. Below the photo is the ink inscription "The Raymond Hotel" and at the left the number "82." On the reverse is the Hotel Del Coronado bird's-eye view by Slocum from the northeast and capturing much of the front and north sides of the structure and including the entrance driveway. The photo is faded, although the Raymond image is quite clear. The board has curvatures and there is edge rubbing, soiling and some stains, so the overall condition is fair.
