Description

Color: Black; Green "Reader's Digest," Vol. 8, No. 85 (May 1929), published by The Reader's Digest Association, Inc. The item has a green cover with the title at the top, a list of articles at the center, the number at the bottom, below which is the month and year and issue and subscription prices. All of these are within a border with classic columns, figures reading and other designs reminiscent of Greek or Roman classicism. The 96-page publication has thirty-one condensed articles on morals, the card came, bridge, history, politics, talking motion pictures, black Americans, education, medicine, and other current affairs items from such publications as Saturday Evening Post, Mentor, Harper's, New Yorker, Scribner's, Collier's, Good Housekeeping, Vanity Fair, and many others. Short biographical statements of authors are on the inside back cover. With edge and spine rubbing, corner creases, a small dent at the top right corner, slight page yellowing, some fading of the cover color, a loss at the bottom of the spine, staple tarnish, and small cover tears and a small tear from the top left of the front cover through to page 35, the overall condition is good.
