Description

Color: Black; Green "Reader's Digest," Vol. 8, No. 89 (September 1929), published by The Reader's Digest Association, Inc. The item has a green cover with the title at the top, a list of articles at the center, the number at the bottom, below which is the month and year and issue and subscription prices. All of these are within a border with classic columns, figures reading and other designs reminiscent of Greek or Roman classicism. The 95-page publication has thirty-four condensed articles on American politics, space, reindeer as food, Wall Street, sports, foreign countries, women, the Hoover Administration, American Catholicism, women in sports, American business, automobiles and family life, and others from such publications as Atlantic Monthly, Scribner's, Outlook, National Geographic, the Mentor, Popular Science, Vanity Fair, Collier's, Ladies' Home Journal, Harper's, Saturday Evening Post, Century, and others. Short biographical statements of authors are on the inside back cover. With light spine rubbing, light cover creases and some on page corners, cover soiling, page yellowing, fading of the cover color, pest damage on the cover and spine, stains on the cover, staple tarnish, and a loss at the upper right corner of the front, the overall condition is good.
