Description
Real photo postcard, Selig Zoo, East Lake Park, Los Angeles, 1910. The front entrance gate of Selig Zoo, owned and operated by William Selig to house and care for animals used in films. Zoo was next to East Lake Park, what is now Lincoln Park. Two large portals in mission style with pedestals in the middle as a base for several elephant sculptures. Palm trees adorn the sides of the gate. The postcard in fair condition with moderate overall discoloration, fading and silver sheen to surface.
