RECEIPT BY WALTER P. TEMPLE, NO DATE [CA. 1927]
A receipt written in Walter P. Temple's hand, ca. 1927. On a piece of plain note paper, the pencilled document seems to record figures relating to construction at the Homestead, possibly La Casa Nueva, though it is unclear. There is mention of some repair or work done on a wall; work done to a curtain and "sides"; moneys on account to Martin and Bassity (the last presumed to be Maud); and another amount of money involving Juan Martin, evidently the same person as Martin above. There are no other identifying features, however. In poor condition, the document has tears at the top and bottom center areas; a long-term fold at lower left; a bent upper right corner; many creases; and dark discoloration. The text appears to be: "Subpost on wall $150.00 / Main Curtain & Sides 275.00 / 425.00 / On Acct Martin 200 / " " Bassity 120 / 320 / A paymt Painter Juan Martin 80 / 400."
